Re: Disaster Resources

Since last week’s devastating tornadoes, Travelers has been working hard to respond to our Alabama agents and customers. I wanted to take a moment to give you a quick overview of some of the resources available to help you and your customers with the recovery process.

  • More than 300 trained claim professionals are currently on the ground in Alabama and dedicated to handling losses in your state. They are supported by hundreds of additional claim professionals and specialist resources in our National Catastrophe Center in Connecticut for inside claim coordination and assistance, as well as further operational support. Our Alabama Response Team includes claim professionals from our local Alabama and Georgia staff, members of our national Catastrophe team, and claim professionals from Travelers offices around the country. The Travelers Claim organization is 13,000 people strong, and we stand prepared to dedicate all of the resources necessary to provide help to you and our mutual customers.

  • Three Mobile Claim offices have been deployed to Alabama. These are self contained offices on wheels, so that we are able to bring our offices to you and our customers. You and our customers will be able to begin the claim process, receive an advance on a covered loss, seek additional help on an existing claim, speak to one of our managers, or access the Internet through our mobile network. Hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

  • Mobile Claim Offices are currently located as follows:
    • Birmingham: 3925 Crosshaven Drive, Vestavia Hills (Winn-Dixie parking lot, near exit 13 off I-459) Map it

    • Cullman: 1718-a 2nd Ave. NW (in front of Enterprise Car Rental, on Route 31 between exits 308 and 310 off I-65) Map it

    • Tuscaloosa: 1601 13th Ave. East (in front of Home Depot) Map it

  • A special Alabama Agency Storm Response Hotline -- 1.800.527.2416 – has been established for Alabama agents. Please call us if you need assistance with a claim, if you have coverage questions, or if you need to access a tree removal or roof tarping vendor.

  • We have implemented our national tree removal and roof tarping program in Alabama to assist our customers. In addition, our claim professionals can make other vendor referrals for customers using our local and national contractor networks, or you can access this information at http://www.travelers.com/claim/catastrophe-resources. In many cases, we can direct-bill any vendor payments.

  • Dedicated Agency Relationship Managers have been established for all Alabama agents. They will contact you directly to provide updates on your claims and follow up on any questions. As a reminder, you can log in to our Agent HQ agency portal (www.travelersagents.com) 24/7 to download a list of claims for your agency.
